ZX400 Tyre reconsiderations?

Hello all!
Step Stalk has passed his test (Woo!) and has got himself a Kawasaki zx 400 (L9) currently restricted to 47bhp on perrelli diablos. It has been hinted at that these tyres mad be a bit to sport biased for a 60 mile daily commute in all weathers (back roads from Northampton and through Milton Keynes. As I have very limited experience of bike tyres I thought that I would throw the question out to you all.

So, can anyone recommend a good all round tyre for the ZX400, or do we stick with the Perrelli's?

Michelin road pilot 2 or 3's 4eva.
Can't think of a better commuter tyre to be honest.

If they have tread and are standard style Diablo's and not Supercorsa's, why bother changing them?

Wear them out.
