Hi,

found out that my bike takes a 428 chain, but I don't know what this means, can somebody explain it for me since I'm going to buy a new one.

Also I will be needing a new back sprocket, how do I find out the right one for the bike?

I believe that number refers to the width of the chain.

Do you think this would work?

4 = distance between pins in 1/8 inch units (now metric)
2 = internal width of chain between plates in 1/8 inch units (again, now metric)
8 = tensile strength on an increasing scale.

You also need to know the number of links required.

Count the teeth on the sprocket and get one the same or go to someone like Wemoto or a dealer and get a chain and sprocket set that's specifically designed for your bike. This is the simplest option.
