Poor Timaaay has crashed his new bike near Bellingham Northumberland and broken his leg in the process.

He is OK, and needs help to recover the bike in the next few days.

Pm me for contact details if you could help out.

Well, he was bound to fall off taking that thing off-road. It's totally unsuitable.

Who are the hooligans now? The guys doing science who break their legs, or the guys who burn stuff, get wasted and ride around a field at questionable speeds on a pallet.

Hope it's not too painful Timaaay Thumbs Up

I hope he realises there are much less painful ways of getting out of astronomy lessons.

There but for the grace of buying a Burgman today instead of going to Asstronomy Fest 2013...

One of the merits of scooters is that if you break your leg, fuck it, don't need it.

GWS, you glorious muppet. Thumbs Up

You can imagine a rather unpleasant backward leg movement if it just went in the ditch at speed.
Soft landing though. Smile

Sorry can't help with bike recovery. I have a garage in Sunderland if it needs storing somewhere for a bit.

Does he need any other help from someone fairly local?

Nah... Laughing

I mean on a scale of 1-10, 10 being very well and 1 being not very well, that easily scores a 1.

Come on, spill about the spill.

Showing off for the asstronomy massive? Just comically failed it on a new bike?

Bike was on its side with the lhs head in the ditch to start with, might explain the mud on the rear.

I stood up, picked bike upright then realised my left leg was rather crunchy and sat beside it. No phone signal so flagged down a local who drove to the pub to phone ambulance, who took about 40 minutes to turn up with the police about 10 minutes before that.

Dislocated ankle which they popped back in on Saturday night, fibia was snapped diagonally so they plated that yesterday. Should be released tomorrow.

My father is currently at the recovery yard with a van so bike collection is sorted. Big mention to Jon the paramedic who offered to store it in his garage this week to save recovery depo storage fees.

Neutral

I'm sure temeluchus or cansa will link map, phone is the only way to access bcf from hopsital so I can't.

Greasy road over a crest into an off camber left hander, dropped it down a gear and the back end stepped out, caught that whilst scrubbing off speed but ran wide onto the grass doing about 20mph.

As far as I can work out, bike just slid on the mud on its left, I went over the bars and either hooked my foot under the cylinder as I went flying or landed awkwardly as I tumbled in the mud. Not a scratch other than the leg.
