A new bike to celebrate their 90th anniversary. I like the idea behind it but I'm not sure on the bike itself

Different exhaust would help at lot, but it's still fairly bland compared to the Roland Sands concept.

Do not want. Looks like a parts bin special. It'll be over-priced, badly made, unreliable and ridden by posers, just like all modern BMWs. Whistle

As far as production 'cafe racers' go there can only be one

Except for maybe the shot with the seat cowl, it looks nothing like a "cafe" from where im sitting.
Surely if they are plugging ease of mods, then "streetfighter" would have been a more fitting description.

I'd consider buying one SH in a few years, in exchange for a packet of space raiders.

Looks like they've given the job to the same style department that came up with the R1200C. Oh dear.

I agree it looks more street fighter than cafe racer, but if you want a BMW street fighter the K1300R is a much better starting point.

It's nice enough but that price tag is a lot for what is essentially a retro niche bike that is ok at most things but not actually built for any purpose, ie, track, trails or touring.

At 11,500 id want something that excels at what it was designed for, even if it lacks in other departments. (Comfort, range etc). Not a bike that is average at everything

I'm assuming that from where the potential purchasers were sitting, they couldn't reach clip-ons due to Bier-und-Bratwurst belly.

Is that a genuine BMW Motorrad accessory or does the customer have to supply their own, like the pipe and slippers.

Although browsing for bmw tobacco pipe brings up something interesting...

BMW slippers are easy though...

Putting those on your Xmas list? Wink

On topic I'm disappointed as it appears a marketing, limited edition type gimmick. They could have done so much better.
First impression is it reminded me of the cruiser thingy that appeared in one of the Bond movies with Pierce Brosnan (so BMW R1200C perhaps? Confused )

I sort of like the look of it but for a lot less money and actual nostalgia I would rather just get a R65 or R80, at least its air cooled I guess.
