Grumpy old bastard Pepperami chimes in and asks if anyone remembers the storm of 87?

A couple of extra bungee straps on your bike cover wont go amiss.
If the wind can get under the cover , it will make the cover act like a sail Shocked
The wind got under the cover of my bike and actually moved my bike along the patio!
Fortunately it didn't fall over Thumbs Up

^^^Given the choice I won't be riding, however I can't say I won't have to as my g/f is away for the week, and she has a car.

Truth be told, I quite like a little challenging ride now and again. Shhh!

You're right, I can afford a car but something inside me would die.
It's like a midlife crisis but somehow I'm doing it wrong. So it's either an Ariel Atom with trailer or another motorcycle..a faster motorcycle....much much faster....almost illegally fast.

I was living in Banstead, Surrey then. It went straight through my back garden and ripped the garage up. The lighting was found 3 miles down the road wrapped around a lamppost.
Oaks park was proper battered.

I thought it was all cool as fuck.

Yeah I was just 14 in 1987, but I remember having the day off because of fallen trees on my train line to school. Some of the huge trees in my local cemetery went down with their roots flinging headstones around and leaving huge holes in the ground. Didn’t see any coffins popping up Poltergeist-style.

More memorable was the 1990 storm because it hit during the day. The wind (or flying debris) blew in the glass dome on the roof of the school library where loads of us were working. Inch-thick chunks of glass raining down on you tends to get your attention.

I wonder if removing the cover entirely might be a better idea. Less likely to blow the bike over maybe?
Failing that, try storing the bike somewhere warm and dry. Maybe southern Spain would do. Wink
