Evening all
A while back the zips on my highway boots started to be a pain to zip up, so much I had use to pillars at some points! Then recently the zip broke altogether and I could no longer zip them up! Rang up Weise and spoke to a guy who said basically he would replace them for some prexport sonic evos just send them off at my cost. Sent them out Monday and got my new boots today as well as a personalized message saying he's owned a few and some tips etc. I know these boots are a budget brand etc and I don't expect perfect customer service, but with no receipts or proof of purchase for a boot replacement worth about £40 more isn't bad!
Just hope these zips don't do the same...Is there any persecutions or anything I can do to prevent zips from coming apart?
Thumbs Up Weise!

Weise is generally good kit at very good prices, I have used loads of different Weise bits over the years.

i also wear the highway boots, zips usually catch that leather bit just inside and can be a pain. was hoping it would become easier over time wearing them in... hope they dont have same issue as yours i kinda like em Cool but well done sounds like a good result anyway Thumbs Up

You can 'lubricate' a zip by taking a regular pencil and rubbing it back and forth on the zip. The graphite falls into all the crevices providing an anti friction coating.

I know its useful for sticking zips, certainly makes them easier to undo. Don't know whether or not it will make the zip last longer though.

You can buy replacement zips you know?

Sometimes they do odd jobs like that at key-cutters, but if you've not sewn leather before you'd be best asking your gran.

It may have good customer service, but it is shite kit.

I had the boots the OP is talking about, the zip catches on the liner and jams. The hard plastic bit at the heel rubs through the leather, then your heal. They leaked profusely, then the soles fell off.

My Weise textiles are shite too.

I'm not sure your ethical standards really have much impact on how long your zips last. Although Hitler's boots always looked great, so maybe you're on to something.
