I personally retain information quite well. So I just downloaded a theory Test app on my phone and spent hours a day doing mock tests.
When it came to my test over half the questions on the app appeared on the actual test.. I almost burst out laughing while doing it.
I finished the test part in 9 minutes.

They is another app for hazard perception. Just do a search for it. It's not as bad as people say either. ____________________ My opinion is neither copyrighted nor trademarked. If you like, I'll trade for one of yours.

I would recommend that you find some way of practising the hazard perception. It's a game and you'll benefit from learning the rather curious rules.
If you don't get a chance to do so, then be aware that you're only expected to notice the hazard when you'd have to take action to avoid it. If you click once at the point where you should take action, NIL POINT. So spot it, click, pause, click, pause, click.
One of the clips has two scorable hazards and you won't know which it is, so stay focussed to the end of all the clips.
It's not hard, don't stress over it.. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Tis indeed so.
The hazards are easy to spot. That's not the issue. Operating the shonky software is the issue. Each clip has a "scoring window" that opens at an arbitrary point and counts down, 5,4,3,2,1,0 and you get the number of points available when you first register a hazard after the window opens. But viewed over the course of the whole clip, the points available may be 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,[5,4,3,2,1],0,0,0,0,0,0. Someone who has any road sense will probably see the hazard around the point where I've highlighted a zero. Click there and only there and you'll score that zero, so it's important to click a few more times to ensure you get a 5 or a 4. But click too many times and you'll be disqualified from the clip and score zero.

Take a look at the practice tests on the DSA website (think there are 2), for both my bike & car theory they had some of the same questions in the actual test. For HP the AA site has practice tests, as does the get on website, but I think you need an account to get your results. Only thing you really need to memorise are stopping distances, and also take a look at the wanky hand signals no one in the real world uses.
Most of the questions are common sense, for example:
You see a motorcyclist lying in the road, do you...
a) have sex with there lifeless corspe
b) run over them to make sure they're dead
c) call an ambulance
d) set them on fire to prevent the spread of disease

Cheers for this mate, downloaded the android one and did the test straight off got 88% which was a pass so i think i'll keep practicing until i take the test for real.
Edit: Taken a second time and got 94% so i'm getting there  |

Thanks for all the helpful advice and funny examples lol, been practising some theory and hazard perception tests online and doing alright now.
Just need to get used to clicking hazards earlier, as i never seem to score more than 4 on each clip on the hazard perceptions.
And for anyone reading this thread who's doing their theory, if you want a DVD that covers theory tests, hazard perception and practical lessons (for both cars and motorbikes) then tell me & you can have it for free
I think you need a windows computer to work it though.
And I've downloaded the recommended App and it's been great  |
