Thus, I am going to have to get rid of my beloved Suzie Sad, just spare a thought for your fallen comrade BCFers... I will have to get myself a little 125 or something for a couple of years...

On a side note, if you ever have a woman pull out on you and then admit all liability(in front of her passenger) and offer to pay damages to avoid going through the insurance, ignore her and go through the insurance anyway as otherwise you get fucked over by everyone... Wankers.

I rang her multiple times with no response, so decided to cut my losses and forget about it repairing all damage to my bike myself until one day I get a letter from her insurance wanting to take me to court. LSS, 50/50 as no independent witnesses.

I had a similar situation. I guy drove into me and bent my gear lever. He had a scratched bumper. We agreed to not call insurance as I had 20 quid worth of damage only.

... a month later I've got a letter that he claimed on my insurance. Few months of stress, writing letters and drawing pictures everything was sorted on my favour. CCTV cameras on a near round about could be the reason.

Yeah I had a 1 year NCD then had an accident that was settled as 50/50, which was fair enough as I think I was partly to blame. However, I don't think the insurance needed to be involved as damage to my bike was purely cosmetic so wasn't too bothered.

Damage to her car was the wing mirror was hanging off and apparently the door was so damaged that she could no longer open it (she opened it to get out of the car after I was knocked off). So apparently the total cost for her repairs was £1,500. She lied about the details of the accident too as well as her damages.

The most annoying thing was the accident happened at the start of my policy, so I had to wait almost a year before I could even START to work up NCD. I still won't have 1 year NCD until February.

Edit: On the plus side I did get about £350 for repairs to my bike. It was a very optimistic quote but I thought if she's going to take the piss so will I. Had she been reasonable I wouldn't have tried to get any money out of it.

Did you try and fight it?

Did you take pictures at the scene?

Ideal is to get your mobile recording sound too; not sure how much this can be used, but no doubt can be 'persuasive'.

As G said - you didn't cover your bases. Take pictures, write a report of everything that happened whilst its still fresh in your mind. Date, time, road conditions, exactly what she said, details of witnesses.

Treat everyone as some sort of scamming cunt and don't believe a word they say.

Exactly the same happened to me, I wiped the floor with the guy in court as I had so much stuff prepared.

This is the main reason that I've called the police out at the time of both of my non fault RTA's. They can see the and document the scene of the accident and get statements from all parties concerned, before anyone has had time to concoct "stories". They can also get witness statements and details if there are any.

I've never owned a bike where the insurance was over £700, god knows what you're doing wrong... plus you don't lose all of your no claims, just 2 years

Phone does the job well too Very Happy Wouldn't want to ruin the DSLR Wink

My last serious accident was well documented with my photos and that helped win me my case. I was hobbling across the street with phone in my hand taking pictures, after going head first over the car that I demanded she leave in place until the police arrived.

In summary:

- Have accident?
- Call ambulance, police must attend
- Don't move vehicles until police arrive to make report
- Take lots of photos in the meantime of vehicles in original places

Had a woman do this to me after a car smash.

Apparently a 5mph rear end shunt that doesnt even crack the rear bumper is £1k of damage to a micra. She claimed, i've not been able to own a car scince due to insurance. My insurers diddn't even let me know i'd been claimed against till they'd payed out for it which took the piss. Same vehicle got rear ended two weeks later, claimed & got a bike.

I'm fairly confident that your GSXR isn't going to be getting you insurance quotes at over £300 per month...would just keep it & be grateful that it costs less than driving Laughing

hope you went and smashed her car windows later that month?

Glad I came across this thread. Makes me realize just how cunted some people are. Always assumed that if you settle out of court, you cant be taken to court, clearly not the case regarding insurance. Definitely wont be settling claims by the road side now.
