hi, picked this up off a mate on friday for £450 wasnt running as someone tried to nick it and cut ignition wires, got her home soldered wires and heat shrunk them, charged battery and stuck some fresh fuel in and she runs great.

sent her for mot saturday which she passed no problems as i thought she would, taxed and insured it so now i have a fully moted and taxed zx6r for £466 quid.

she has a scorpion exhaust, braided lines, brand new michelin pilot sports or something, 28k. just missing the side panels for front so keeping a look out on ebay ect.

also no hugger. but there not expensive, only downside is wheels flaking so ordered a ltr of gloss black so will sort them along with swing arm, pillion pegs and rear spring.

anyway the reason iv poste din workshop is im not sure if she should have a fuel light or not ?

Don't think so? Later ones definitely have a flashing fuel light, unsure if the J model got this.

Yes, you got a good deal.

And no; you just get the reserve tap.

That's an awesome deal... £450 buys you a J2 engine on eBay.

as said, no fuel light, just keep an eye on the mileage. i tend to refill at 120 - 130 without the need for reserve.

my previouse bike was an sv so this is lovely compared to that it even has a clock which im chuffed with.

Shouldn't need to turn the fuel tap off really; unless you've got a leak or the floats aren't set right.

Got stuff from my old ZX9, but not much left and nothing for a J2 bar what's the same.

Do have some pretty tatty race body work that should fit the J2, but you can probably get normal stuff ok.

I did have an unused CF hugger for the ZX9, but sold that I'm afraid.

I've got the top clamp, but not sure if it's the same as the zx6.

The fairings, which I don't have, are definitely different by the way, despite looking very similar.
