Due to do my DAS this weekend with mod 1 on Monday followed by the mod 2 on Tuesday afternoon.

But the Aberdeen test centre has cancelled all their mod 1s next week because they haven't treated their surface properly and have already had to cancel some over the last 10 days due to the weather up here getting a bit 'chilly'.

Going to continue with the training Saturday-Sunday and just hope that we can re-schedule for the next again week.

Always frustrating when you 'gee' yourself up for something and then the rug gets pulled out from under you. Heard the Aberdeen test centre can be a bit of a joke at times - don't know if any others have experienced it?

I do believe you might be able to claim back the entire cost of your course. I got my mod 1 cancelled and they refunded me the day, but you could argue that the lessons were useless without a test?

A year ago I rocked up at 9 am to do my Mod1 and got told I couldent because there were leaves on the far end of the course and it had rained so it was too slippy. They couldent sweep the leaves up as they had to wait for the contractor to turn up and do it. I was not happy.

Who are you doing your lessons with?

On what basis?

Argue to whom? He can't sit a test anywhere, ever?

Tough luck, OP, but that's the cost of living at the barbarian fringes of the Empire. It's rampant faggotry on the DSA's part though, given that these are manoeuvres that we're expected to be able to do on the actual road on any day of the year.

Did both mod 1 & 2 in the rain and got on fine.......mod2 the examiner follwed in a car because of the rain (fanny!) Didnt have a pinlock visor at the time so my visor was steamed up and couldnt see a thing...it calmed my nerves!

No reason why tests should be cancelled for wet weather...unless there excess surface water on the road in huge puddles etc

I had a test cancelled because there had been heavy rain the night before and the examiner said the country roads would be too dangerous. When the test was done a couple of weeks later we didn't even go on any country roads. Nuts!

Did my mod 1 in Taunton and was told to watch out for baby seagulls on the bend! Tester just said if one is in your way abandon the manoeuvre and I could do it again. Reckon if I hadn't reached the required speed on emergency stop/hazard avoidance I could've blagged it that it was a seagulls fault and got another go!

I was told they could only do this if a bike wasn't available for them?

I did my tests at the centre around this time last year, Both tests it was freezing and pissing down, Both went ahead no problem and I passed. Got the same examiner each time and my instructor suggested I had been lucky as he was the best guy there, I think some of them can be dicks as three guys had their mod 2's cancelled when I was there as the tester had a sore head.

Who you learning with? They can sometimes have a word with the DVLA folk for you.

For those who are familiar with Aberdeen, I'm doing my training with 2112 bike training.

Phil was spot on with my CBT so it was a no brainer to book the DAS with him. We got out for a full day on Saturday and riding in the wind and rain was great practise! Unfortunately we had to cancel Sunday as the wind was pretty mental in the morning and it had rained a lot more over-night so he decided not to risk it.

Just need to wait to get another couple of days training done (hopefully asap) and the tests re-booked when the test centre has decided it's safe to use their surface Mad

All in all a frustrating weekend! Should have done my Mod 1 this morning and would have been getting set for my mod 2 tomorrow!

2112 is that the short ex army bloke? Uses a gladius? I did mine with Simon Hargreves (I think) £210 mod 1 and 2 including test fees.

Not doing Mod 1s today really is taking the piss. The weathers fine and even if the course is a bit wet should be no danger.

He is on a Triumph Tiger - based out in the country beside BOD.

Because of the frost they hadn't treated their surface accordingly - apparently this about the third or fourth year in a row they have cancelled a lot of tests because of their failure to do so on time.

I thought that it was us Southern types that were meant to be total woofters when it came to the weather. I did my test in ~-2, with shedloads of ice on the road.

I was out and about on my bike today and a few showers apart there was nothing wrong with the weather, Definitely worse when I did both my tests! Something isn't right here, Did you book your tests yourself or have this 2112 lot do it??

I did mine with Biketec, They were a great bunch.

That can't be true, As I said before I did both my tests in the wet and it was cold too!
