Hi guys,

My bike has a weak spark I am trying to troubleshoot, both ignition coils primary winding is within spec, secondary winding one is in spec at 23k Ohms but the other coil has a secondary winding resistance of 13.7k Ohms

What kind of issue would that cause? Both coils are giving a weak spark, and it's just as weak on either coil - I can only assume one coil's resistance wouldn't affect spark on both, so my weak spark must be somewhere else (at this point I'm thinking CDI)

The spark should be denoted by the size of the windings, all the cdi will do is trigger when it will fire? as its the collapsing of the magnetic field that produces the spark, it will be a finite size depending on the ratio and number of windings in the primary and secondary windings. run a 12v supply direct from the battery to the ignition coil, then see what the spark is like, if it is not any better, replace the ingition coils
