Just received this email:

IMPORTANT NOTICE
MOTOR INSURANCE FRAUD

You may recently have been contacted for a quotation or to purchase motor insurance from a company calling themselves "Chipped Insurance Brokers".

This company is not selling valid motor insurance but is in fact perpetrating credit card fraud. Chipped Insurance Brokers is not a registered company and is neither authorised to quote for, nor sell motor insurance.

If you have been contacted for a quotation or have bought motor insurance from "Chipped Insurance Brokers", please contact us on 0800 091 0601. Alternatively, please reply to this e-mail detailing what dealings you have had with Chipped Insurance Brokers.


The Police have been informed of this fraud and are investigating the matter.

Thank you for your co-operation.

who did you receive the email from?

Why did you recieve it?

seems all a bit odd to me!

Sounds a bit like those emails.....

"Hello, you don't know me but i have 300 million dollars, i need a british bank account blah blah"

It came from A&A Group. I assume I received it from one of the many online insurance companies I have entered my details into over the last couple of years. Even if it is shite it's still worth a mention incase someone does receive the email.

And it doesn't sound like those emails at all! Rolling Eyes

I've had one as well. Doesn't seem like the normal scams, which ask you to verify your credit card details on a website which look identical to the real thing, and the first you'd get to know about it being fake is when you're credit card is full and you then get a nice bill.

It could be a very dis-gruntled customer I suppose, but I seriously doubt it. Could be an idea for the future though. Twisted Evil Gear4bikes & Insanity Motorcycles beware Twisted Evil
