Looking to get my forks anodised while looking at tim's vfr thread noticed that he's also changed the stanchion colours, can you anodise chrome or do you need to get them rechromed which would be too expensive.
anyone know anything about it?

Hi

Anodising is pretty much the same process as chroming but on aluminium alloy (normally). But chrome is hard and needs to be to resist wear on forks.

Anodising alloy can be done, but it takes differently to different alloys and how clean things are. So welded alloy sections can land up a different colour to the surrounding alloy.

All the best

Keith
