2002 CCM R30 644 SUPERMOTO - info please guys

been offered one of these, other than it having a suzuki engine i know nowt bout em.......... but im betting you lot do

apart from the obvious stuff are there any known issues to watch out for ????

i know i could just google it but id rather, if possible, get some 'hands on' info rather than any ole tripe cooked up by an armchair expert somewhere

So, DR650 engine isn't particularly spritely but should be fairly reliable.
Bike is a little heavy to be that 'super'.
Suspension and brakes are decent enough - very similar to KTMs, for example.
Expect you may find some 'british' quirks, but overall the main problem I had with my 404 was the Japanese engine going.

A friend had the R30 and found it a bit boring.So he fitted a 715cc piston kit and a new 'lumpier' cam and now,together with a carb from a KTM 520SX,the bike is much more interesting.

iv written off that idea now, read a few things online (i know i said i didnt want that sort of info but ya know how it is ) and iv come to the conclusion that what i want is the 'go' of a crf450 (etc) but the reliability/service intervals of, say, my drz400................ and im pretty sure that doesnt exsist

A TE610 or KTM690 (and some 640s) are similar to the DRZ in weight and reliability, but a good bit more power and better suspension.
(KTM claims to be the most powerful production single.)

I've seen people add oil coolers to increase the oil capacity of competition bikes to improve their service intervals; and while stuff like the Yamaha is a bit heavier than the competition, I'm not sure I'd want to use it daily.
