Anyone got the Richa Cold Protect GTX? Seeing that they won the weather test I am really considering ordering tonight.
I really don't want to stick Muffs on the Shadow so looking for the best gloves I can get.

If you mean these gloves: https://images.esellerpro.com/2189/I/513/61/Richa-Cold-Protect-Gore-Tex-Motorcycle-Gloves-Black-1.jpg
then I actually have them Laughing

I've had them for only a week but so far they have been doing great. My hands are not cold. I ridden in quite cold weather already. In heavy rain and my hands were not cold and not wet at all. I dunno what the temperature was but in about 10-15 degrees doing NSL I could not feel any cold at all. The finger tips do get a little chilly when you ride for little longer distances doing NSL but its nothing major. Can't really review them properly until proper winter kicks in tho...

Another thing I could say is that the only reason I went for these gloves was gore-tex and the way they felt on my hands - just so perfect comparing to the other gloves I tried. I don't think they will keep my hands 100% warm in winter temperatures however I know one thing; they sure will keep me dry.

I also think they have reasonable protection for a winter glove comparing to other ones.

Id say, if you have the money - go for it! These are the best gloves I've ever had.

See I think the whole "Gore-tex" thing catches alot of people, myself included. My current gloves are Alpinestars WR-V Gore-tex. They do alright in the rain, keeping me fairly dry. But when the water gets inside the outer layer it just cools down too much and my fingers over the past couple of weeks have been basically dead.
Once I've taken them off after its rained, the water does seem to soak into the main liner too.

Muffs at £40 are better than anything else I could even imagine. Might even muff up the TL and use that. Laughing

I have a pair of Richa gloves and I'm very disappointed in the quality.

After just 12 years they've started to split on the stitching to the reflective material section which makes them not waterproof any more Rolling Eyes

(I looked last week at another pair of Richas to replace them with, and they don't feel as 'solidly made' as my old ones - so don't take the above as any sort of recommendation.)

I love my muffs. I'll use summer gloves throughout the winter, as I did last year. I also like having somehere to store an emergency kitkat.

If you are getting that with Gore-tex you might need to wash and reproof. Nikwax Tech Wash and Tx.Direct Spray-on. They work wonders. It helps the water bead off the outer layer.

Do not want.

I bought some Richa gloves and when I binned my bike at about 50mph they shredded to pieces.

Lost skin on the pinky side edge of both hands, tucked arms in soon as I had chance to think. Really wasn't impressed by their gloves, especially when for the most part the jacket and trousers held up fairly well (knee on the right side quite literally had the waterproof layer left, the protector had been torn out too, and the left elbow went right through and took a lump of flesh out).

Tl;Dr gloves offered some protection but inadequate in my eyes. Might as well have worn some Sunday market Thinsulates. I've crashed faster in cheapo eBay gloves, slid further, and not had my gloves so fucked.(didn't really slide when I had the richas on, more of a multiple downhill longjump)

Youre disappointed that a pair of gloves 'only' lasted 12 years? Neutral

So after a week of using them, I've not fully come to a conclusion on them yet. Hasn't been very cold in scotland this week.
So far they've decent in cold weather, but not had much rain to test or proper cold. At the moment I'm gonna say that they're good for cold weather, but won't be great for really cold.
Also I'm not a massive fan of the placement of some parts of the glove. The palm grips seem to be too close to the fingers and end up bunching up slightly when wrapped round the bar. Also the rubber knuckle protector is slightly too close to the fingers so doesn't cover as much of the knuckles as I'd like ideally.
Overall I think they're good, but could I have been better saving the £100? Probably.
