Should I get something for the winter commute?

Been thinking, as the area I live is quite exposed and gets some bad winters if I might be better getting something to use instead of the ZZR.

Been looking at road legal quad bikes (farm quads with 4x4) and motorcross bikes but nothing coming up particularly cheap (I guess farm quads get run into the ground until they die) and not a lot showing for mx bikes.

am I just being a wuss or is it a good idea?

Any of these with MOT and running and then leave it in a ditch next spring

As far as my opinion goes, quad bikes have all the draw backs of a bike (cold, wet, dangerous), and none of the advantages (parking, filtering, speed).

I would have thought a ZZR would be perfect, I did last year on an SV and it was fine.

The problem with a ZZR is all the plastic breaking when you lose it in the ice.

I've been keeping my eye out for a cheap naked bike too, but haven't had any luck yet.

Forget quads, the fuel consumption is appalling, over any distance it will hurt big time.
Look out for a slightly ratty smaller, lighter bike that you could fix the inevitable minor breakages with used bits - only you should look about May when everyone is trading in for something for the summer.
