Hello.

I am new to this forum, so if this is in the wrong place - please forgive me Embarassed If this is not the right place, please direct me to the right way Arrow

I am a 19 year old female and I am planning to ride a motorcycle in December for the first time ever (i've ridden a 4 wheel one before).

I do not have a license but I am planning to ride off road and maybe on abandoned roads if possible.

I ordered my helmet, now I'm just looking to order riding gear: shirt, jacket, gloves, pants, boots.

I want to be prepared for the worst. I want armored everything. I don't know how to differentiate between different materials and stuff but I heard leather is the best..

I don't know where to look, what to look for and I don't have time to research alone because I need it by December and it will take a long time to ship here!

Here's what you need to know:
- I'm looking to buy full riding gear (fully armored, esp. with the spine)
- I live in the middle east (QATAR), so the weather will probably be 10C-15C
- no budget limit.
- the website needs to ship internationally to where I live - Qatar

The reason why I need this experience to be perfect is because I am thinking of getting a motorcycle license in the future.. for fun and not for transport wise. I just have this huge passion for motorcycles and I have never ridden one.. it's a weird feeling.

Thanks.

There must be some motorcycle dealers in Qatar that i'm sure will sell motorcycle gear, best bet is going down their and having a look around. Describing your requirements and then allowing them to assist you in what you need.

I would of thought that off-roading/motocross gear would of been ideal for what you're doing and not leathers as you'll get extremely hot in leathers in Qatari weather (especially summer).

Leathers are good for road-riding, particularly at speed as they have very good abrasion protection, for off-roading though i wouldn't of thought it would be very suitable at all, especailly in the weather and conditions you're riding in/through.

As above go down some local bike dealerships, ask their advice - but take it as advice, they may just try flog you the most expensive stuff going - and most importantly try as much stuff on as you can, find what you feel comfortable in.

Theres no good being armoured up from head to toe if it restricts your movement so much you're actually more likely to have an accident and be injured than with a little less armour for example.

The other thing to bare in mind is off-roading is totally different to riding on the road, i know a few people that have tryed one having done the other for many years and found it very stressful and not enjoyable, but of course plenty do find both enjoyable. Just don't expect them to go hand in hand.
