Again... Im after some headphones..

Im after some headphones my CX500s have finally died.

After a brief look around ive come across these..

For internal ear phones like those, £20-£30 of any known brand is usually decent. I have some JVC and Samsung ones and both sound almost as good as my Sennheiser cans.

External ones are much different and cost is much larger for decent ones.

I'm a big fan of the Sennheiser CX300-II's. Been through a few pairs (I break them before they fail). I did look at upgrading to some IE60's but can't justify the price.
My headphones are only ever used with my phone playing mp3s so there's no point using high quality earphones.

I have a good pair of Sennheiser over ears to use with my laptop at home. I also plug them in to my hifi when it's too late to turn my Kefs up.

An relatively unheard of Chinese brand making waves in the audiophile world down the their value for money are from soundmagic.

I have a pair of the e-10's and were comparable to the cx-400's, which were nearly twice the price. For me, they are a little on the bassy side.

The others that I would really recommend are the e30's. Amazing detail. The only other pair of in-ears that I've heard that were much better were the top of the line sennheiser ie8's, which are way over the £100 mark. They have a quite neutral sound. The only gripe I have with them is they don't really fit well in my ears, however the rest of my family have no such issues.

If you are after something with a bit more bass, for gym music them the EH-11's are meant to blow your head off with bass, in a nice way though. Definitely worth checking these guys out

Yes, that's how they fit - and they're a couple of grand..

They're borrowed, I'm not mad. Not very practical, and a bit cold to pop in - but sound very realistic for live and acoustic stuff.

thanks to this thread I just blew £140 on a set of sennheiser hd 280 pro closed-back
as I need a new pair to replace my current JVC closed back ones I use at gigs
they are Ok but don't reach deep enough into the bass below 30hz
and are a bit tinny over 15khz
the HD 280's should take care of that with a bit more neutrality

JVC Xtreme Xplosives. Push em in properly and they block pretty much all the noise outside. However, you now can't eat anything because you'll hear that too clearly
