So I crossed the wires trying to jump start! What an Idiot. Embarassed

I have had to do this the last few mornings to get my Intruder going and then normally fine the rest of the day. My previous post was that I bought the wrong battery and now I'm waiting to get the proper fitting one. As I have done this a few times and it was raining I was kind of rushing the job hence the muck up. Crying or Very sad

There were a few additional sparks but I thought this was as I had some rain coming down. Now the car is fine but my bike does nothing at all. Nothing seemed melted or damaged. Rolling Eyes

Ill buy a new battery anyway when it comes in but is there a fuse or anything else I probably need to replace also?

Thanks for helping an idiot. Sick

There should be one main fuse (up to 30 amp, a big bastard), typically next to the battery.

Whats the full name of the bike, cc etc?

Not so sure about bikes but when this happens with cars, and having worked at import centres I have seen it done a million zillion times, damage is mostly the fusible link, usually found near the battery, sometimes though I have seen alternators go pop and refuse to charge afterwards as their regulators have become damaged.

Once at a used car dealer I worked at a valeter jumped a Rolls Royce silver shadow with backwards polarity,it killed a lot of gauges plus the ignition control box and cost a lot to put right.

Its a Suzuki Intruder 125 VL. I'm struggling to confirm the actual battery size to find a proper replacement!

I'm going home soon from work so can check fuse.

It'll be a fuse. There seems to be often a main fusebox on most bikes with a secondary fuse somewhere else in the system. For example, on my Street Triple it's on the Starter solenoid.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
