If i do it in my mates name it will be ok, but i really wanted to do it in my name

Why do you need tax before you've passed your DAS? Unless you plan to keep it on the road, which might not be a good idea for a brand new R6..

Good luck to you if thats what you want- Great choice.

Can't you ask the dealer to hang onto to it until you have passed?

William

PS I havn't got a clue what a DAS is

Well you couldn't ride it home anyway, taxed or not, cos you wouldn't have a licence to ride it. Razz

I personally think your barmy buying an R6 as your first bike!
Just think if you drop it bye bye fairing!

Very nice. Good luck with the DAS course, and enjoy the R6 when you have passed. Smile Thumbs Up

DAS stands for Direct Access Scheme. It is where you are trained (well, you can be or you can have previous riding experience) up from never having riden a bike before to being allowed any sized bike. You have to do the same test as restricted access tests, but you have to do it on a bike where the power it makes is at least 35kW (46.6bhp). The engine can be any cc size, and it does not have to be capable to a minimum speed.

Basically it's training courses which take you from never being on a bike to being able and allowed to ride any bike. You have to be over 21 to do a DAS courses. You would be trained on any sized bikes, but you have to wear L plates on the bike and be in radio contact with the instructor. It is still only 125cc bikes you're allowed out on your own as long as you have a CBT.

Hope this makes some sense. Thumbs Up

Does it matter? Lay off the guy. If he wants an R6, he can have an R6.

Yeah, right on!

Nice choice of bike buddy, what leathers, helmet etc have you brought......

Now the real expense starts mate, paddock stand, rear seat hump, steering damper, nice noisy exhaust.....

Mind you, it does not have to be expensive, not unless you want all the above.

Load up some pics when you get it.

alright alright im sorry, didn't mean to cause offence Shocked

Nice choice of bike Thumbs Up Very Happy

Just dont like people with loads of money and no experience that go out and buy the biggest rocket they can afford that they really can't handle while im stuck with a 50cc and i'm pennyless. (not saying that you are)

It's these kind of people (not all) that end up making my premiums go up (thus making me pennyless, thus leaving me on a 50cc far beyond my approaching 17th birthday)

Sorry i know i have made a completely stereotypical post here so please dont rate it really badly, that is my view and it isn't a personal attack on anybody.

sorry

Paul
