Hi all.

My nsr seems to be slower than any other nsr. I can only get 90mph out of it downhill. It isn't a import and isn't restricted (thanks to nsr125.com). Any ideas?

The previous owner could only get 85mph out of my NSR down hill, it is an import and is not restricted Confused so have no idea why it is slower than other NSR's. It is half faired, but I would expect it to do 85 on the flat Smile I think it may be something to do with the CDI, but I will not know until I run the engine in and test it on a long road.

90 mph is still pretty damn fast, if there is anything slowing it down it isnt doing so by much. you sure it isnt electronicly restricted ?

i'm shure the cdi is not restricted. I seem to have to rev the bollocks off it to get it to that speed. I know 2 strokes are high revving but nearly 12000rpm is taking the piss.

Well I've heard that 90-95 mp/h is what the most of the NSR's do.

i rev my 4 stroke to 13+k to get 70 out of it Razz

i think the issue is not how fast does your bike go, its how much do other people lie. if you think your bike is slow because it wont do the talked about 100mph, chances are others are exagerating its speed.

pump your tires up and change the rear sprocket Wink

Mines was the same. Not an import and not restricted. Indicated 93mph downhill really ragging the crap out of it. That was the best I ever got out of it. Don't worry about it too much.

My NSR would only do 85 downhill in 6th. To be honest if you want to go faster on it, it would sound unwell. Just be happy with breaking the speed limit by 20mph for the moment and wait until you get a bigger bike until you'r banned.

My NSR will just about scrape 90, downhill with the wind behind me.

I think the speed of your NSR depends greatly on how well it was run in.

Your better off just excepting the fact that yours will never keep up with a mito and be happy with what you have. Otherwise you will never really enjoy riding it because in the back of your mind you think something is broken.

+ in my opinion when you start to think negatively about a car or bike things start to fall off.
