Fork repair Derbi gpr 125

Hello, i am currently fixing up my new bike, it's a derbi gpr 125 2t. The forks are very badly pitted, i have used to part eproxy to fill the pits, it now looks even worse but smooth. i plan to put fork gaiters on. I have one issue tho, being the forks are USD forks i can't fully hide the stanchions. THis will mean the tester will see the botch job. I would like to know if i can spray the stanchions black ? or do they fail spray painted stanchions ? Thumbs Up

Dont spray the stanchions black.
The paint won't stay on the chrome for five minutes.
You could try to blend in the epoxy with a light coat of silver and turn the repaired area to the inner rear so as to be less visible.
It will depend on how fussy your tester is; in theory all that is required is for them to be leak free.
