Mutt Looks half decent but I presume most of it is Chinese? I doubt it would be much fun with no front guard though

It looks good, but I doubt it'll make more than 3000 miles. It does make me think though, these chinese bikes look better than what Japs do. Confused

"125 cc engine based on the bullet proof Suzuki GN"
Sounds Chinese to me.

MCN seems to give the HMC bikes good reviews,

but then it gave the CBF125 4 starts for quality, and it would seem the paint is made from spreadable cheese

That Mutt thingy, and a few other HMC bikes have the same frames and engines as the Sinnis Trackstar range. I would guess they could either be made in the same Quingi factory as the Sinnis bikes. Google the Sinnis Cafe, Sinnis Retrostar, and check the many pics of my Trackstar on this forum.

For the rec, the Trackstar reached 20k in a year and a half, only disasters have been punctures and a torn earth wire (which spawned a number of other electrical faults cause I didnt fix it). They are also half the price of the HMC costing around 1500 :-/

I think it looks good at a glance, but spend more time and notice the drinking straw diameter exhaust and spindly frame, against the chunky tyres and it starts to look a bit out of proportion.

I'd rather spend half the money on an HMC Classic, which looks much happier.

Almost £3k is rather a lot of money even for a very well produced 125 low performance 4 stroke from a reputable make.
Yes, the 'higher' performance 4 strokes are now above that, but it doesn't add up for me.

Get an old Jap 125 4 stroke and give £2k to some bloke in a shed to make it look how you want - probably still have change in your pocket and a more reliable bike!

Hmmmm ... I rather like that, even with the chunky tyres.

Perhaps I'm swayed by the red over white tank with rubber side panels. A lot like my old Tiger Cub. And even the worst Chinese bike couldn't be less reliable than that Smile

Especially the first time you try to take it to an MOT and it fails for either:

1.suspension assembly component which is missing

OR

8. deliberate modification which significantly reduces the original strength,

That type of bike has a pressed-steel fork brace built into the front mudguard. It can and will fail an MOT if it's missing.

Note that the picture of the bike when in the Workshop shows it with a mudguard.

I think you'll find that is not a workshop but a hipsters living room. That bike is nothing but an ornament.
