Hi

Apparently the big car parks in Birmingham city centre aren't bike friendly (free). There's a Birmingham city council map* of free on street parking in the city centre, but obviously its mainly in the centre. I work on broad street and the nearest is Holiday street which seems ripe for bike thieves, little traffic, no cctv, dark etc. So i was thinking about moving it about, does anyone know of any free spots over this way? All the car park feds around brindley place shooed me off, is there anywhere over the back of that?

*Birmngham CC trot out the spiel about promoting bike use - yet charge for access to ALL of their car parks, go figure.

There's a Qpark on Brunswick Street that I've used before in a car.. https://goo.gl/maps/erieP, don't know if you have to pay on a bike but it's well lit at least?

I've never paid when using the Euro carparks behind the cinema, off Bishopsgate street. CCTV in there and the few times I've caught one of the security they've seemed sound lads. Even had them suggest I drop the bike in front of the cameras outside their office on one or two occasions, on the yellow cross hatching. Instead of tying up a space.

Most of the non-council multi-storeys are OK. Just don't take the piss, ride in and out around the barrier without causing a scene Thumbs Up

Yeah i went in that one but there was a sign up in the motorbike bay saying it was £1 per day. Or is it like "£1 per day wink wink"? That would be an excellent place if so.

On Bishopgate Street (the side road by Gate crasher, Nandos and Cineworld) there's a Euro car park with CCTV and security. Your bike may be able to get past the barriers (i haven't tried on my 125 but it looks like a bike could squeeze through) and if not then the security will normally let you in and out free of charge (they have for the two times i've used that car park)
