So, been searching around but have only found very expensive solutions to this,

basically the woman has long legs and finds the pillion pegs on the fz6 too high to sit comfortably for any long rides, anyone have any ideas for lowering these cheaply?

Cheapest way i've found so far is some pegs on ebay at £70, most adjustable ones on there are circa £90 though which is ridiculous :/

I don't think there is a cheap/easy option.

You could look at cheap Chinese import adjustable pegs like these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Yamaha-Front-CNC-Adjustable-Foot-Pegs-FZ1N-FZ-6N-1N-1S-6-Fazer-800-8-2005-/360544395744?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item53f21ee1e0 not much adjustment though at 25mm. Most of the expensive ones have 50mm which you would probably need.

Only other thing, apart from getting brackets made, is looking to see if there is a difference in drop on the brackets between model years on the FZ6.

You need to get your tape measure out and go find an R1.

Where's the peg in relation to the pipe? That would usually be the limiting factor in how much they might be lowered.

I'm not familiar with the peg-hanger arrangement on the FZ, so there could be some curiouse feature about it; but my initial reaction, would be some dural-plate of e-bay... a drill, hack-saw, and a couple of M10 bolts.

Just make a plate with two holes in, to drop the mounting point an inch or two... bit of channel section might do job even better.

Quite a long way off due to the underseat nature of the exhaust!

Under the seat, but surely you're just playing us a long as you would have known that due to how familiar you are with modern 600s?

Have some brackets made up to drop the pegs down a few inches?

who said biking had to be comfortable?
If she needs to stretch her legs why doesn't she tuck them under your arms and rest them on the handlebars Smile

Is she really really tall or something?

I just sat on the FZ6 pillion and to me (@ 6ft) it feels pretty roomy compared to some bikes I've been on.

Make yourself some brackets, or get some made up, then you can drop the pegs as much as you want. Just needs to look like this:

Alternatively, just stop taking her out on the bike...
