Hi everyone
I hope this is the right place to post this and i hope someone will help me with it.
I have a 1993 Kawasaki ZXR400 in good overall condition.
When i gone to see the bike for sale it started up first time with ease, I rode it home and everything was fine. Then i have started the bike up everyday but did not ride it as there was no need for it and this was for about a week i started it everyday. Everyday it did start but each day it was much more difficult for the engine to start, when it started it would work on tickover on its own without me reving the engine a little until it warmed up, 5 days ago i started the bike up but then even when it warmed up it still wouldn't keep it's revs. The next day it wouldn't start at all, when i held the electric start button it was turning over fine and just after couple of seconds of turning the engine there was a loud bang from the exhaust but thats it. Would anyone be able to help me with this issue. I suspect either the spark plugs or the carbs but i dont know please help me asap. Thanks in advance

Here's my bike:

You checked the obvious I assume, like has it run out of fuel? tried it on reserve? was it on reserve and the tanks empty now? Put a couple of gallons in it maybe?

Does it have a fuel pump? has the pump stopped working? maybe the carbs are full of dirt?

So many unknowns.

Check the basics first, I have a hunch it is a fuel issue.

So you've been starting the bike but not running it?

You could be looking towards a dead battery if you carry on doing that, unless it's on a trickle charger or something

You've run it up but not used it, bad idea.

Remove the plugs, given them a clean and make sure the fuel is set to on and tank has at least some juice in there.

Fire it up again, I reckon you've just let it sit there idling and now everything has fouled up.
