Don't ruin a bike by "street fightering" it just because you scratched a few of the fairings.
Its worth spending a bit more time and money sourcing the fairings, you'll most likely make the extra money spent back when you sell it. I don't know many people that would pay the same for a "street fightered" bike as they would for the same with standard fairings. ____________________ Current Bikes:Honda 929RR Fireblade, Honda CD200 Benly (Project), Stomp Z2 140

Yes, they are road legal.
Yes, they'll pass an MOT.
Yes, it will give out next to no light.
Yes, its your bike, but by god are you going to kill it. |

You would be better off buying a used headlight from a proper bike, or infact keeping the existing light and bodging some mounts to fit.
I will say my CBR600f looks quite good with the light but no fairings.
Anyone can stamp a product with the E mark, products are not tested to verify they meet any particular standard. However for a car or bike manufacturer it is in there interest not to use dodgy parts |

Lighting regs schedule appears to say that an approval mark is not required for motorcycle lights. There's no minimum wattage either (lol, wuttage?) or size of illuminated area, just that it be white or yellow.
However, the top one is the only one that looks like it will throw a beam pattern that would (or should) pass an MOT, if fitted as a dipped or main beam headlamp.
You could try and brass neck it and describe them as purely positional lamps, and ask for an advisory that no headlamp is fitted. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Thanks Rogerborg, that's what I was looking for. Not interested in trying to trick my way through the MOT, I want something that will legitimately pass - so it was just a question of how I determine that |
