Really very minor, I'm in slow stop-start traffic, woman in a Ford tailgating, nose-diving the car every time I ease off the throttle. Eventually she bumps into my back tyre. I get off to check for damage, can't see any, while I'm at it I take a photo of her registration. Meanwhile she just sits in the car, makes no effort to get out and give her details. I refrain from banging on the window or suchlike since that could be construed as threatening behaviour. In the end I just ride off with her following behind for a while, not maliciously, I'm sure she was just heading in the same direction as me.

So should I report her to plod for failing to stop & give details, or just forget about it?

People tailgating bikers are putting the bikers life in danger. Utterly unacceptable, report it and hope they get her off the road before she kills someone through her idiocy (I know they won't, but I would still report it).

Report it before you get a knock on the door alleging you reversed into her.

"Well officer, he started screaming at me and hitting the car, thats why I didn't get out"

Not worth my while risking it. Any hint of violence towards a woman and the police automatically take her side, regardless of facts and evidence.

If there was no damage or injury, there is no offence of failing to stop, I believe. You'll probably be fobbed off at the front desk or by phone call, either way.

If you report it, expect to have to tell insurance for the next 3-5 years that you have been involved in an accident.
Also you should get a 7 day wonder too.
Your call, but it could cause a good bit of hassle for you.

Y U NO filter?

Report it? Pfft. Forget it, no damage, no requirement to do so, and even the shadiest ambulance chaser isn't going to seriously try and claim you reversed into her. Rolling Eyes

Agree with not getting confrontational, but i'd probably walk up to the window and attempt to at least communicate. She might of been so clueless she didn't even realise she hit your tyre.

As G said, you'll likely have to report it to your insurers for several years which will put your premiums up.

I wouldn't bother.

If you wanted her details maybe you should have asked her. I can't see how you can report her for failing to stop and give details if you didn't make any attempt to talk to her, its not like she just drove off!

I pull to the side and wave clowns like that past. I refuse to have them behind me.

I do the opposite. I leave them way behind me.
