Hey people. Don't know about you, but I have never seen a personalized reg for a bike. They must be able to buy right? Do you think there is no point in getting them? I think I may consider it. I've had a few looks around, and i'm willing to spend up to £1,000 for one. Anyone know where I can get one for bikes?

How is a bike different to a car anyway? A registration plate is a registration plate.

What's the point?

Can't ever recall looking at someone's plate and going 'OMG he has a personalized plate! what a star!'

Usually the train of thought goes like this 'That twonk's spent all that money just so a piece of yellow plastic can say CBR 900'

Save your money, do something useful with it.

Like I said, if you got the money. Maybe a little excessive but it's worth it to add that personal touch to it.

If you have the money then give it to me - I can think of so many more useful things to spend it on.

Is it really? £1000 just to have a few different letters and numbers on a piece of plastic?

I can think of alot better use's for £1000.

Not necessarily £1,000, I mean, there was one plate for £60,000 yes, that ain't no typo sixty-thousand pounds! That's just fuckin ridiculous. I can get one for about £500 but if you want to use letters like 'Z' it goes up a bit.

Because I have too much. No seriously, i'm not saying i'm going to get one, I was just wondering if you could. It is a lot of cash, just wondering what the fellow bikers of England thought.

I'm don't understand why you keep asking if you can get them or not.

Of course you can - you see thousands of cars with them. Cars are no different to bikes when it comes down to registering them.

Yes you can get one, yes they are a waste of money.

You need a licence and a bike first before you start thinking about personalized plates.

I must have missed the news item that said that all charities had enough money so everyone should waste it on crap.... Confused

I bought a bike once that had ERN 3Y as it's plate but the guy re registereed it and sold the plate for 600 notes before I picked it up....it was always known as Ernie though....

It's your money so spend it on what will please and make you happy. Does it actually matter at the end of the day what others think, as you like something that's what's important really.

It you have the money and like the idea then by all means go for it. You earned the money with your time, so spend it as you please you have no need to do what someone else would do with it.

And Carvell, you've been learning well about telling people to google for stuff. Laughing Thumbs Up

[Bah, spell check does not like the word "google". Sad Laughing )

See my above post. It's his money, not anyones elses and he can do as he wants with it. I mean, some people could class that peoples money would be better being given to charities rather then being spent on computers and internet connections and just using them to argue about people not giving money to charity. Live life the way you want to, not the way others think you should, or they way they say they would in your situation. Otherwise everyone would be the same and there would be no such thing as different people and personalities, and we'd become a planet of basically robots.

Once again, another good post. Oh, and for those that didn't believe me on the £60,000+ ... look right here >> https://www.thenumberplate.co.uk/cherished2.asp . If it doesn't work, go to main page, then go to 'Dateless + Privately-held numbers or click HERE to search by price'. Click 'HERE' and you'll see.

A personalized doesn't affect your insurance, surely not? Not as if it's modifying the bike.
