Long story short, I've just taken my DAS.
Should have passed if not for misreading a road sign, changing lane and not making my shoulder check/ life-saver clear enough (even though I did it!).
1 major.
Unfortunately my theory expires on the 6th so I have to start over with theory, MOD 1 (which I passed with no minors!) And then MOD 2 (also had no other faults, just the one major).
Basically I bought a cb500 and want it insured for peace of mind reasons but no-one wants to provide even just a basic cover without road use.
Any suggestions?

So, just theft cover? Laid up insurance. Better be SORNed, brah.
Is this some gold plated CB500 though, because I wouldn't be making a theft claim on any bike worth less than about £1500. With excess, mugging on the value and inflated premiums you'll lose out in the long run. Your money is far better spent on security.
Alternatively, Bikesure will cover you TPF&T or FC on the CB500 under your provisionaL entitlement, on the understanding that you will pass your test within a few (can't recall offhand) months.
However, that ties you to one provider and you can't shop around so it may not be worth it.
Given that you'll have to do everything over (Y U wait so long?) I'd put the money towards the re-tests rather insurance.
Oh, and have you asked the DVSA Dereks at your test centre if they really want to you do re-do Mod 1? I know that's what the statute says, but the statute is an ass. Worth asking, right? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
