I have never met anyone who likes U2 but still they sell millions of albums why? I can honestly say I do not know any of their music and for some reason I never got the free download from itunes so I did not have to delete it.

Firstly Bicycle accident LOLOLOLOL Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing
Secondly, They sell lots of records because America.

I didn't even know he played guitar so hardly a loss to the genre.
All we need is someone to crash a bike into his mouth and we can be spared
any more of his tuneless wailing.

At the end of 2013 Dappy from N'Dubz was kicked in the head by a horse and it wasn't long before that horse received a prestigious award from the music industry for his "Outstanding Contribution To Music".

This year the award is going to be given to a motorcycle and Apple users will find a video of the awards ceremony in their iTunes account. Thumbs Up

FFS, he could at least have had a spectacular motorcycle accident while off his tits on coke like Billy Idol did. But then falling off a pushbike about sums up U2's level of 'rock n roll' Laughing

Yup... I thought all the guitar was done by the effects pedal, and a little bit of input from the edge. Never knew Bono played.

seems I'm in a minority as I quite like some U2 songs
not all of them but I did like the early albums in particular

Maybe if the coffin dodging crooner had taken those stupid feckin sunglasses of his face he might have been able to see where he was going on the bike.

You guys are savage. If Bono was just starting out, this may have killed his career, and following that hypothetical musing, I think that the early stuff would have been a loss.

From the article:

" Bono continued: "Recovery has been more difficult than I thought. As I write this, it is not clear that I will ever play guitar again. The band have reminded me that neither they nor western civilization are depending on this."

Clearly, the guy has a sense of humour.

on the other side of the coin think of all the people who would not have slit their wrists listening to this pricks earlier material, did they not give out free razor blades with their CDs at one stage? Clearly, people must have a sense of humour to listen to this bands repetitive derge. Anyway I hope the bike was alright.

Hahaha... "a high energy bicycle accident" which resulted in "very punk rock" injuries. Pretentious as ever Bono, well done. Wink

In my opinion U2 were spent after The Joshua Tree. That and The Unforgettable Fire are the only albums worth owning by the band and they're both well over two decades old now, other than the odd fluke song which was worth a damn ("Hold Me, Thrill Me" springs to mind) all their output is drivel.
