Maybe it's possessed
perform an excorcism to get rid of it
and if it comes back after that it must be re-possessed

We had this one before, its the breather on the fuel tank vent in the fuel cap, nothing to worry about, the tank simply has a bit of pressure it's venting off.

I get exactly the same, but only when two up with 'Er Indoors and I've "accidentally" exceeded a speed limit.

It usually stops after a few minutes, providing spouse with a cuppa or something to eat usually helps alleviate the whining noise.

As said before tank breather whining! If you open the tank cap it should stop. If not then its something else.
