Anyone had any experience of fitting cb125 rs top end (proper cam bearings) to an old sl 125 (1973) bottom end ???

Ok thanks for advice, got an xl 125 rolling chassis (1975 n reg ) off of the ebay for a ridiculous sum of money, and it was still cheap despite the 600 mile round trip to cornwall !!!!

Bought bike knowing I had an sl 125 bottom end (1973) in lock up that I had from a bike breaker over 15 years ago that looks really at home in the frame. This came with a box of bits including spare crank and enough top end stuff to complete the rebuild (two piece head tho ?).

I have a complete cb125 rs engine but dont want to start hacking this classic frame to fit it because of the kickstart bulge in the rear or crankcase/gearbox casing and the oversize (compared to early 70's) engine mount bolts.

Oh deary me, looks like a rethink on where to go engine wise or start the search on ebay for priceless classic honda parts, ah well if it's not a challenge its not fun !!!
