OK, I'm a bit worried now.
actually it might have been 1 up 5 down.
I bought the bike earlier for 650, and although i did think it was a bit odd I've been on bikes with the same setup, and the numbers matched the logbook.
The seller did say the engine was changed at some some point, do i really need to worry about this?

The engine looks the same as other er5s.

It is the same, best colour too Wink

Should be 1 down 5 up unless they have reversed it sportsbike retard style.

Ah, so after you said that paddy i realized its on a linkage, all my previous bikes have been straight onto the shaft.

Am i correct in thinking i could reveres it back by reversing the linkage?

If so needs doing asap, as it isn't good Confused

Some people reverse the gears so its 1 up 5 down, something about ground clearance or something...?

Unsure how the ER5 works, got one but never looked at it. The manual should help - https://er5.atw.hu/letoltesek/Kawasaki_ER5_C5_2004_Service_Manual_ENG.pdf
