Hi could anyone advise me ! As I haven't worked on a bike for about 20 yrs
My brother has asked me to have a look at his scooter a direct bikes
Db50qt-15b ,he advised me that scooter starts ok but when he goes to eccelerate the bike loses power ,straight away I suspected fuel starvation ,checked fuel to carb ,cleaned out carb and checked jets all ok ,changed spark plug . I then noticed while looking online that the pre filter pipe has a cap on the intake with 4 holes in it and my brothers bike does not my question is will this affect the mixture as I tried an experiment and partially blocked this and the bike definatly ran better,I suspect this part may have dropped out as he says it was running fine coming home from work and half way home this fault appeared any advise would be greatly appreciated
