Anyone continuing on from last year or getting into something afresh?

I had about a week or so out for xmas but went straight back into it, have become a bit obsessed with deadlifting, currently adding about 5kg a week and up to 175, i'm aiming for 200 half way through the year, depending on hitting/exceeding/failing on that I will reassess for the end of the year.

Been going to the gym for about a year but have been wasting time doing the same shit.

Started Stronglifts 5x5 routine - basically 5 reps with a weight you couldn't do anymore than 5 with and do 5 sets with 30 seconds rest in between. Really good for beginning I wish I found it a year ago, gives you a doable goal and keeps you on the track you set out on.

been to the gym tonight, trying to get back into the routine but is annoying that work gets in the way every few weeks.

I've decided that being tubby is no longer a good look, so I'm starting to swim and going to cycle to work when the weather gets a touch warmer.
May post a picture log when I have some progress to show.

Standard annual half a stone to lose after Christmas. Will be at fighting weight by mid march I expect.

Rode 4,500 miles last year. Hope to do 4,000 this year. March will be a write off as the baby is due smack bang in the middle.

I'm just eating better and trying to go out for long(ish) country walks on a regular basis.

Dropped a few pounds so far, although not enough to show on someone my size.

Mind you: the other woman in my office who looks at me all day, noticed today that I look slimmer since she has been away over Christmas.

So it must be working.
Slowly.

I don't really want to rush it. Am hoping that just dropping bits of weight slowly will help avoid all that saggy-stretched-skin-stuff that a lot of mega-fatties get if they lose weight too quickly.

Besides it took me years of dedicated overeating and not-exercising-much to fashion this body into a semblance of somewhat-wobbly sexiness that it currently is ... I don't want to let it go too quickly Laughing

Might cancel my membership at the local swimming pool, though.

Been paying £16 a month and not going at all, for about the last three months (always hate going in winter) ... so I could find better things to spend the £16 on ...

Goal wise I guess only increasing weights. Benched 140 for a couple of reps yesterday which wasn't too bad as I had pretty bad rotator cuffs last year. Want to be doing reps (6-8) of 150 by Easter then I can really cut for 7s season.

Squats is another, want to be squatting 200 by the same sort of time although unlikely to be for many reps. Still recovering from a dislocated ankle and broken leg not too long ago so progress is steady.

Dude, stop with the large font.

Changed my routine last week, not down to NY but to cycle my workouts. Adding more HIIT with less focus on heavier lifts, and more bodyweight. Will change it up again in 4 weeks time.

Just checking back on my post in the original thread, I never did get down to 12st, fuck I never made it to 13, best was 13.5 just before i went on holiday in September, crawled back up to 14.5 between then and xmas, didn't help I had 2 months off from the gym due to bike being stolen and subsequent problems with replacement bike.

So I've just completed my first week back in training, and fuck me has that time off killed my fitness completely, I'm a dribbling mess at the moment so going to be a few weeks before a base level of fitness comes back.
,
However, I've started eating properly again. Started at 14.5, currently at 14.1, the goal is 13st by end of March. Another opportunity to fight in April, will have to see how fitness goes before I consider it, knowing what I know now.

Well I fucked my knee up in Feb last year which put me back a bit.

It was fixed in August and is now really strong so fingers crossed I will be able to keep going with the cycling through the year. I lost 3-4kg last year at my trough, but put 1kg back on over Chrimbo, so now at 85kg. Managed 4,640 miles last year.

Key goals:
Arrow 5,000 miles on the bike
Arrow Get to 82kg
Arrow Do at least two 200km Audax (I have already entered one for 13th April).
Arrow Ride at least 10 of the '100 greastest climbs'.
Arrow Hit a 20mph average over my 20mile summer training loop.

Think that'll do.

I've started Wendler's 531 program before christmas but then christmas happened and I had a couple of weeks off. This is all about, NOT working to your 100% instead repping out at 80-90%.

I'm about 83kg and can bench about 80 for 4, squat 135 for 4, deadlift 140 for (a couple) and overhead 65 for 5, so I got to my initial goal.

Now my new goal is to get some weight on, looking to get about 90kg (I'm 6 ft 2) and hopefully get up to a ton on the bench and increase squats, deads and overheads too.

the 531 is quite boring though, get to the squat rack and stay there for about half an hour for 11 sets and about 80 reps in total.

My plans are up cardio a lot, maybe join a gym. Stronger than I've ever been but got to get the general fitness back before I go back to playing rugby.

Hoping to drop to around 90kg.

I am continuing to walk home from work (8km including a steep hill) at least once a week. I last did it on Monday and found not only had I done it faster than before but I was less tired than I've been!

Weighing myself over Christmas I found I'd lost a few pounds. Either losing or staying the same is fine with me!

made good progress last year but moving town and christmas put a spanner in the works.

Ideally this year id like to gain on bench/squat/overhead/deadlift, get down to 70kg and about 10%BF, hoping to also increase stamina on cardio work, cycling to work should help that.

Gunna be interesting to read this again in 6 months... Laughing

Cheers

Cake!
No no not cake not at all, nor pies, nor pizza, nor takeaways...

Sorry, naughty clanger. You could always swing by Diesel's new place and tell me off in person (tomorrow night around 7pm). It'd be ACE to see you, tomorrow, the 16th that is. Mr. Green

Edit: this year, I plan to do those squats/steps that I was supposed to do last year...for toning purposes. Where did that year go!?!?! Shifty

Alright then.
After last years successful cycling holiday I wallowed in beer and crisps so I am back where I started in Jan 2013.
So this years goal is Mont Ventoux.
Bike bus booked already for early June. Best start training. Smile
P.S. Why is Joe called Brick?

Been doing this for a couple of weeks myself, was already starting to notice improvements but now back at uni so no access to a gym. Hoping to keep some sort of gains going with dumbbells and bodyweight exercises.

Currently at 13st3, want to be 12st7 by May. Then in the summer when I'm back at the gym I can bulk up to 13st but with muscle instead of fat.

So many people looking to bulk up Shocked
I have quite a broad build, so that bit sorts itself out for me. It's just the tub that ruins it!

Got 2" gains on my arms in five weeks Cool GAINS BRAH. Hitting gym almost every night.
