What's my bike worth?

What do I need to prove to insurance what my vehicle is worth?
Rob gave me a heads up and told me to look at ads for the bike.

It's a 1981 CB250 RS and I found one on ebay advertised ar £1400 and one sold at £1,095. I'm also watching all the ongoing bids of the other CB's on there at the moment.

What else can I do to prove that my bike is worth more than what they will probably offer?

dont insurers just look at the autotrader an take an average of all the prices with similar condition to your bike?

thats what they did with a car of ours that was written off?

Look on every site selling. Get ads with ones in similar condition with similar miles. Might be worth asking a dealer to give you a trade in price as well.

could you insure it on a classic policy?

that way you can get an agreed price on valuation

they can look for bikes for sale the same as you, and the shitty overpriced ones for £550 will only work in their favour
