Crying or Very sad Hi folks,

im 21 and have been following motogp for many years now and have to say it has changed my life completly. It is all I seem to think about day in day out and before the race I always gets sooo nervous!!!! Last year at donnington it was the first time I got a lump in my throat when the bikes for being fired up in the pits! I have been trying some time now to get some cash together for a honda rs125 04 bike and would like to ask any club racers the best way to be noticed for the 125 gp class? I am a bit old now for the r6 cup and anyway I dont want to take that route as I dont enjoy supersport racing.

thanks guys! (oh did any campers at donington on friday get their gas stoves taken off of them??? oh yeah nice one! I had to eat pringles until our lass came down the next day with the instant barbecues!!!!!

Erm, how much track time / race experience have you had?

I'm not a club racer yet, but I'm pretty sure the best way to get noticed is to win races.

I presume you're pretty minted?
Racing in a 125gp class is pretty expensive, especially if you're going for a brand new bike rather than a pre-used package.

Personally I would look at starting in rookie 400s on a 250 2 stroke if you're not a fan of big 4 strokes. Much cheaper and a lot less hassle to setup, you can get a cheap or not so cheap 'package' including all the spares you need.

Just re-read your post. Are you talking about getting noticed for national/internation level 125GP rather than just in club racing?
If so, best way is to win /everything/.

While I'm looking to do a bit of rookie racing next year, I'm just doing it because I enjoy that aspect of track riding, even if I had the talent, which I don't, I don't have the money to buy and maintain race winning bikes.

I'm pretty sure there's an age limit on the 125's now, can't remember if it's under 22's or just preventing the experienced riders who are 30+ from racing in this class. Don't quote me on this though.

Look into it, you don't want to buy an rs125 and then find out you're too old to compete with the thing Smile
