I want to tour around europe, but im only 20. I was wondering if there are any age restrictions, like you can only ride in europe if your 21, or need to have held your licence for a set time already? I will probably go for a tester holiday touring around ireland first. I presume that there is no issue driving in northern ireland with a uk licence, but would the rules be different in the republic?

If you have a full licence and insurance. That's about all you need, and the get up and go. There are some short two three day trip's in to Europe on the board. Join one of them. It will show you the rope's and you'll be with people who have the same idea.

I'm an old git. And the rule's change. But as far as I know you can't ride in Europe on a UK Learner's licence. For one you won't get insurance.

Go pass your bike test on your 125, and you'll get an A1 licence.

Then you can travel round Europe with no issues.

It'll cost about £120 to pass sit all 3 parts of your test.

Your CBT is only valid within the UK - you can't ride abroad with it. If you try it then the Dutch/French rozzers by the port/train will have your head on a pike faster than you can take your L plates off.

And don't just take the plates off, they'll do you right over if they find out Laughing

Do your A1 if you're over 17 (which I presume you are). It's a full licence and you are just as licenced as the big boys, only you're stuck on a 125 and not a GS1200 or whatever the Ewan and Charley wannabes are riding Laughing
