Alright lads,

I've currently got a Belkin modem/router which has been fine really but is getting on a bit and we need the wireless to go a bit further (booster?)

If I go and buy a new one I haven't a clue what to look for or how much to pay so was wondering if anyone could recommend one they have or point me in the right direction?

Needs to transmit the signal fairly strong.

Also how easy would it be to put a password on the wi-fi if I get a new one?

Cheers! Thumbs Up
Tom

It sounds like you just need another wifi access point. I've used powerline adaptors and an old wifi router to extend my house wifi. You can get powerline adapters with wifi built in. There's been a few threads on here about this stuff.

I got these one a month or so ago: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190938201287?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Took 5 mins to set up. It receives the internet signal from my existing router, and replicates it as a new network (different name) but with the same network password.

Works well Thumbs Up

These
are pretty nifty for the money and are multi-function.
