Bike parts websites?

Right, I'm pretty new to biking so dont know many parts websites.

No doubt when I get a bike I'll have a list of parts to go hunting for. I can abviosuly scout ebay but I've found with car bits the majority is substandard tat tbh.

I also need to find some bits for my brothers gixxr, silly boy has left it to the point where it needs a chain, front discs and pads, oil and filter and clutch casing so sites for custom/modified parts are welcome as well as general consumables.

Robinsons Foundry is excellent for OEM Suzuki parts for bikes from the 70s onwards:

David Silver Spares is not as good as it used to be, in my experience. Still, handy if you're looking for Honda bits, even if it is to discover just how obscenely expensive they are:

CMPO is also remarkably useful, especially if you're looking for odd bits on the cheap. For example, I couldn't get a starter solenoid for my GS at a sensible price, until I noticed that the one on my Chinky 125 was identical - it's worth a look, and many of the Chinese bikes are knockoff versions of a couple of Japanese models, so the parts may well be interchangeable:

CMSNL, as mentioned by -Matt- is very good for parts fiches and part numbers, although their delivery speed is poor.
https://www.cmsnl.com - they're very courteous and pleasant on the phone: despite being a Dutch company, they're typically more on-the-ball than a lot of UK suppliers ever will be when it comes to answering technical questions.

Wemoto are OK. They don't always get it right, and their phone service can be a bit variable depending on who you get. However, free keychain/post-its/whatever FTW, and they usually list some decent non-OEM parts.

Yahoo auctions - I've bought a bit or two from Japan this way, and for some obscure models, it's the only real source. You will have to make use of an intermediary though, and some of the ones that have cropped up on the web can be a bit pricey.

eBay. how could we forget it? provided you're willing to trawl through crap descriptions that have been written by retards, or totally misspelled/wrongly identified parts, you can usually bag a bargain. Or a total shitter. Or something you didn't actually order.

Find a bike dealer that has an account open with Mike Larsson

Look up part numbers on there & call said dealer with the part number for instant quotes & 24hr delivery - RRP listed is usually cheaper than ebay or simmilar. Saving on postage is win. Also handy specs and cross referances on fork seals etc.
