Today I PASSED my mod 2, I had no faults at all and the examiner, a very nice chap, complimented me on a very safe ride.

Got home after the other fella had done his (3 faults but a good ride and he didn't expect a pass) around 12:30.

Had to put new plugs in the bandit 1200sk4 I bought as it had been stood and they were shocking. I had disturbed a connector which went to the left had controls and clutch switch so the damn thing wouldn't start. Eventually phathomed it all out. Got it up and running, tax, test and insurance sorted. Chucked in some fuel and injector cleaner(yea I know it's carbs) and went for a spin!

So a very good day today for me. So be got a huge grin on mi chin and can't wait for the summer to begin!

Passed with 0 faults
First bike is 1200
Mechanically breaks bike, then mends it.

I'm guessing you're a bike mechanic who spends his spare time at the gym and can bench 500lbs and actually passed his bike test 20 years ago but recently got banned for riding at over 200mph
So this was just a simple re-take Smile

Congrats on passing chief! 2014 all ready to be a blinder Mr. Green

I'm 38 years old. Had bikes on and of since 9 but never owt as big as the bandit and never took tests, I have been a car driver since 17, my stepdad taught me lots of mechanising stuff which I enjoy but couldn't do it for a living.

Yea seems to the outside eye that I've just jumped on a big bike after passing my test. But it's been nearly 30 years in the making so!

I'm well chuffed tbh, wasn't worried about having minor faults but to get a clean sheet was a bonus!!

Cheers
Guys!!

Can't ask for more than that. Well, obviously that mikesaa309 chap would get a secret gold star superpass, but us mortals can only aspire to 0 minors.

Who is this Mikesaa? He sounds like a new contender for the Shaddow Biker crown.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to say Congrats. How does it feel riding a 1200?

The ride position, size etc isn't much different to the varadero 125 tbh, there's not a deal of difference at speed limits around towns etc cos 30 mph is 30 mph.

Now the power, and I know it's not that powerful compared to some smaller capacity race types, but the power is smooth and always there.

Nipping around a slower car doesn't take a week of planning like on the vara, you don't get the pull out, ooh crap it's to windy can't make it pull in moments. It's more of a yes, it's clear and safe. Now it's over nip back in kind a thing.

I'm not used to the gear ratios etc and I think I'm keeping it in too high a gear some times but that will come I suppose.

I really can't wait for those nice summer afternoons/evenings. I'm going to be busy though cos I've got my kid every fortnight and then my horse to ride also! Lol!

Get your tests passed fellas and get a big bike, doesn't matter what cc, I wanted a big tourer type and that's the point to bikes. We can all get to work etc via car, bus or taxi so we don't NEED a bike. You can't carry much on them and they are limited to some degree with the weather. You have to wear lots of safety gear to stop your skin falling off if you hit the floor BUT as a hobby or toy they are a good choice and as such get what you want and enjoy it!

I will also commute on mine so really it serves a dual purpose!

No plans apart from sort the bloody spluttering out. I think it's just because it's been stood and needs the carbs cleaning up.

Disable the pair system. And that's it I think

It's nice to be nodded at by other bikers! Lol!

I saw one of the instructors today. He nodded as though he recognised me! Think he would have from the clothing. I got on well with them and enjoyed my training!
