Talk about being in the right place at the right time Very Happy Guy has spent about $5k on her, bought her for £1,800. One to tick off my bucket list Very Happy

Hi guys,

It's on a V plate, so pretty much one of the last ones made. It's so smooth with shedloads of torque Very Happy

Just a query, is that front tyre the right way round...?

I can't help but think that my Avon wasn't bi directional.. and I'm unsure if it went the other way... Thumbs Up

Nice bike though, not my bag at all, but definitely better than the "Goldwing" nowadays Laughing

Hi Paddy, long time no speak, how you doing buddy?

Yes it is the right way round for a front, if it's used as a rear it goes the other way. Not seen that before, must admit

Not your bag?

Gimme this classic solidly built out of proper metal Honda any day over say a new ZX10R or S1000RR!

Nice bit of 70's coolness, and if you didn't want to keep the pretty original looks, there's plenty of things you can do with it project wise!

What else can a BMW S1000RR be apart from a stiff back breaking sportsbike? Laughing

I thought that, but thinking about the way it's fitted, the point of the tread pattern /|\ would hit the ground first, channelling water away from the centre. If it were round the other way \|/ the edges would hit the ground first and channel the water to the centre.

Very nice! Very Happy Quite fond of these along with the R65/80, they don't look too shabby as a tourer with a Polaris fairing fitted.

Which is why I get told every now and then: "Your tyre's on the wrong way round."

Noooope Pilot Road 3's seem to be an oddball, but they do the fucking job! Mr. Green

Nice bike! I've got an early model which I've really grown attached to..

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Keltonn/1976%20Honda%20GL1000%20Goldwing/gl1000_1.jpg

I got mine a few months ago with all kinds of touring bits on it, which I've since removed. If you're wanting any touring parts (full screen, king/queen seat, etc.) send me a pm.

A naked Goldwing is IMO a thing of beauty.
Closest look in newer stuff I think is the Valkyre, the F6C in Europe and Valkyre had wrong connotations in Germany, where they expected to sell shed-loads. Then again they're 10+ years old now.

T'interweb tells me Honda are reintroducing Valkyre as a GL1800 variant. Trouble is IMHO it looks horrible. Pictures click here.

Enjoy the bike Thumbs Up

Each to their own and a tidy bike, but personally I can't think of anything worse than a Goldwing on Avons with solid discs. Laughing
