Hi,

Been working on my xj600s 1992 cafe project and have fitted an old cheap chinese kege tacho.

It worked fine on my other bike, but when connecting the yellow feed wire to either spade on either coil, its not working.

I also tried using the XJ's original tacho feed wire but with no luck.

The only way ive actually got a reading is by jamming the feed wire from the tacho into the spark plug cap but it makes that cylinder stop firing! lol

Anybody got any ideas?

Cheers, just tried wrapping it around the HT lead a few times and then a load of times just to be sure, but still no reading.

Tried the rev counter on the other bike again just to make sure it isn't faulty and it worked fine on the positive lead on the coil.

Really struggling with why it will not work on the XJ!
