Faulty switch? Potentially stuck in. Have a look to see if the brake lever is pressed against the switch.

This Thumbs Up

If not, get a bottle of contact cleaner and spray into the switch whilst furiously pushing it in and out.

I've had two Honda bikes and both had to have a brake light switch replaced, one front and one rear

I seem to recall that I wasn't too confident that a new front switch would fix the problem (old one looked fine, 'plunger' went in and out OK)... but it did! You can't see what's going on inside them.
