Been delayed a fair bit today, 2 ISPs, both using Chrome 32.

Clicking on a post with 1 reply gave me this..

Has happened on average every 3 or 4 clicks throughout the day.

Maybe some bottleneck down south?
From loading the same page you linked to, I get this :

It is fairly sporadic, I get it on random pages across multiple ISPs, I can load this page fine 1 day and the next it will take 7+ seconds before it starts to render the page.

1 connection is 120MB fibre and the other is going out of a 1GB direct feed Laughing

It wouldnt show a page generation time being high if it wasnt due to the server itself.

Some caching services had fallen over and weren't automatically restarted as they should have been.

Should be better now... If it happens again I'll be able to chase the problem in a bit more detail.

The page generation time is how long the server took to make the page before sending it to you.
  • If a page takes ages to load and the page generation time is high, it's the server's fault.
  • If a page takes ages to load and the page generation time is low, it's something else. Most likely your network connection.
