Had a reminder today that I can easily come off and die. Cool, eh?

Simple overtake, just as I pulled back in I had a complete lack of feel from the front end. Not sure if it was diesel, but in the few moments it happened it felt as if something could be seriously loose from the front end. All this just before a corner. Thankfully, after a split second I realised I wasn't coming off, so I wiped my arse clean and rode on.

Riding daily has given me a false sense of security I guess. Usual stuff, like the rear sliding out, odd bits and bobs that you get all the time has become totally engrained in my physce. But I honestly thought I was about to crash at 60mph, on a corner, with nothing but big trees, which has given me a reminder that I'm not invincible. And not a riding God.

But you know that horrible feeling. Nothing to learn from, apart from riding less like a dick. Lamestorybro.

How long have you been riding for? Shouldn't have taken long to realize you're not invincible.

Was it like: When you attempt to do rolling burnouts at speed in the wet and the front keeps stepping out? I find that to be a reason to either release or clench ones sphinkter.
Fortunately for me it's usually the latter.

however the wind the other night had a few terrifying near curb hitting moments accompanied by increasingly paced chants of 'shit shit shit shit shit'

Commuting into Edinburgh every day reminds me of my mortality.

My chant of choice in these situations is an incredibly long "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKK" followed by a frantic search for wet wipes and clean underwear

I had that same feeling at a similar time last year IIRC, I made a thread about it.

Front end going all loose and no feel then I overtook a car and went into a tank slapper... awful, I survived it but whacked my knee on the frame when gripping on to the bucking bronco
