Normally i get annoyed when people reply to these thread with "poor observations by rider" but in this case i really do think it is.

Before the rider has even crossed the peddetrian crossing [i]before[/] the lights you can see lots of cars turn across his path, so he needed to be backing off a bit.

And at 14 seconds, before the rider has started to cross the junction, you can see the kid running, maybe not worthy of drastic action jsut yet, but definitely worth watching.

IMHO feels like the rider was too quick across that whole junction bearing in mind road conditions and weight of traffic etc.

P.S. All that aside must be a pisser to drop a brand new bike cos of some little tool.

poor obs and too fast for conditions. Generally if I see a pelican crossing coming up I'd slow down enough to be able to check for pedestrians waiting and be prepared to stop. And as Andy S said with the cars turning ahead you he should have already have slowed down.

Again as Andy said you can clearly see the kid running up to the lights even on the video footage should have been much easier to see in person.

That said I do hate it when pedestrians think it's ok to run out or even walk across the road at pelican crossing when there walk/don't walk light is on red. Just because they have no license to loose and can't get fined for it. If we were at red lights and thought "oh look no cars coming I'll just jump the lights" we would get hammered if police saw us. More annoyingly if we were to hit a pedestrian as they walked out in the road it's our fault.

Obviously that would be down to poor obs but there's a pelican crossing in my town just round a blind left hand bend that's at a 90 degree angel like turning into a side road. Several times I've gone round there when I was just starting out and had to brake because some idiot couldn't wait to cross the road. Now I know to expect it.

I appreciate Ste and all his splendour but I can also see the appeal of younger rider wanting something with fast looks. Bit like in ye days of old firing an XR2 badge on your Pop Plus Fiesta or GTI badge on the grotty grotty diesel 205 XS. I think the current example is the "limited edition" Corsa with VXR aspirations.

The only thing the R125 has in common with an R6 is styling and a name.

They share nothing remotely similar.

R6 is Aluminium
R125 is Steel

Forks
R6 travel 115mm
R125 travel 130mm

Caster
R6 is 24degrees
R125 is 25degrees

Trail
R6 is 97mm
R125 is 89mm

The geometry aren't similar at all.

If you want the ultimate handling 125, go buy an RS125
