Detectives are looking at CCTV to find who left a pig's head on a police car in Birmingham yesterday. A spokeswoman for the police says that whoever put the severed head there hasn't committed a crime. It's therefore not clear what they would (or could) do if they managed to find the culprit!

I wonder, under which exemption for police vehicles in TSRGD 2002 were they driving and parked in what looks to me like a pedestrian area? I don't see anything relevant. Thinking

Thats in the middle of Birmingham City centre, about 90 degrees to the right hand side is the Birmingham Bull. They park up there all the time.

This also happened back in February btw.

Do you think there's a charge of wasting police time?

I got stopped in bedford by a copper who had gotten out of a police van in a pedestrianised are to tell me i couldn't cycle because it was a pedestrianised area.

I asked him if he thought it was safer to drive than to cycle in a pedestrianised area and could just answer the usual bollox about permits blah blah bullshit.
