Roadcraft Nottingham? Though doubt he's the only one as rare as they are, DVLA stats aren't perfect.

How dare you accuse the DVLA of being anything other than 100% accurate with 100% of their records - where are your facts to say otherwise?!

The cheek of some people!!

Love this statement from the article:

"somehow, there are 308 Buell Ulysses on the roads (or at the roadside)"

Thumbs Up

Would be interesting to know the break down of capacity and scooters ect.

The likes of Kawasaki haven't made a scooter until this year and haven't offered a 50cc or 125cc road bike other than the KLX125 for years now.

I'd image that a great many of Honda's number are scooters and 125's.

Thumbs Up

There's got to be more than 257 plastic maggots on the road. I know they're knocking on a bit, and yeah most had hard lives - but damn. I see a few around here quite regularly - and I never venture far.

If you're curious about your bike, https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/ has a database based on the DVLA records that you can search.
It is slightly out of date though, not sure how often it updates.

As per the article, thought there would be more than 13 RC45's

Not surprisingly a little pricey

Not quite as that only shows the latest new registrations.

The stats VisorDown are refering to are the total amount of bikes (all ages) on the road or at least registered.

I really don't like that site.

It's become very popular to quote statistics clearly culled from there in Egay ads, they hardly ever seem accurate.

Not so long ago, I saw a guy advertising his Allegro and he reckoned there were only two left, of that particular model; trouble was, I'd seen four at a classic car show a while before, his wasn't one of them Laughing

All registration figures are made available freely by the Dft.

Those are the stats that howmanyleft uses. You can down load the CSV files every month yourself.

Which is interesting given that Kawasaki seem most scared of BMW & Triumph.

Because all 3 only make big bikes? No scoots or 125's between them. So a direct comparison purely on numbers is only valid between these.

There is a GTS1000 at the Stondon motor museum. might not show on the figures as it has stood there since before SORN.

BMW made (or badged, rather) the C1, a 125cc scooter with a roof. There's a couple parked up in Islington most weekdays - or were a couple of years ago, when I went there regularly.

And of course there's now the C600 and C650.

Yes but three of them rotted to dust on the way home. Wink

Yes, but they were so bloody expensive they could hardly be counted as commuter material for the masses.
